METHOD FOR STOPPING INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH INTAKE COMPRESSION ASSISTANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a fuel is exhausted to an exhaust port in the unburned state or the incomplete combustion state following a stopping of an internal combustion engine from the view point of an ignition operation corresponding to an extension operation of an ignition plug and a final injection fuel. SOLUTION: A compression of suction in a cylinder is enhanced after a stopping of a fuel feeding to the cylinder of the internal combustion engine. The enhancement of the compression may be carried out: by driving a crank shaft by an electric motor; by changing a valve-opening phase or a valve-closing phase of a suction valve such that an effective compression ratio is increased; or by changing a lift of the inlet valve such that the effective compression ratio is increased.
