PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correlation extraction method of image feature amount by image categorization and a device thereof capable of determining mechanically with high reliability an image even belonging to various categories. SOLUTION: The invention extracts, in an image, a procedure which segments a first numeral group corresponding to the physical feature, a procedure which segments a second numeral group corresponding to the image's category feature, and the correlation relation between the first numeral group and the second numeral group, with respect to the main component obtained by main component analysis on the physical feature and the classification obtained by discrimination analysis on the main component and the category feature. And, for an image in a predetermined category, the invention extracts, in the image, a procedure which segments the first numeral group corresponding to the physical feature, a procedure which segments a second numeral group corresponding to the sensuous feature that sensitively describes the image's impression, and the correlation relation between the first numeral group and the second numeral group, by applying main component analysis on the physical feature and applying multiple regressive analysis on the category feature.
