PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge in which the length of a label area is widenned while maintaining the easy installation of a change-over member to change a recordable state and a nonrecordable state to a case. SOLUTION: A write protect part 30 has an erroneous erasure preventive plug 32 movable along the back wall of the case 12, and an opening 58 which is formed at the lower part of the back wall of the lower case 16 and enables a user to visually discriminate the recordable state and the nonrecordable state according to its position. The lower part 40L of a leg part 40 according to the position of which the drive unit discriminates the recordable state and the non recordable state, and an operation part 47 to which a shifting force is applied, are formed at the erroneous erasure preventive plug 32 projectingly downward. A leg part exposing hole 56 to expose the lower part 40L of the leg part 40, an operation part exposing hole 54 to expose the operation part 47, are formed at the undersurface side of the lower case 16. Thereby, the erroneous erasure preventive plug 32 is easily installed onto the lower case 16, and the length of the label area 60 of the back wall is extended.
