Device for synchronization of a number of processes occurring on a number of units (2a-c) of a paper-processing machine. The units have a central control unit (1) that is linked to them via a data bus (6). The central control unit generates movement commands that incorporate absolute times at which the commands are to be executed. The units incorporate absolute timer mechanisms and execute any commands in a time-synchronized manner. The invention also relates to a corresponding paper processing machine. The data bus is a field bus, optimally a CAN bus.
