A method for integrating with load balancers in a client and server system

In a data processing system (SYS) a load balancer (BAL) is typically used for distributing request messages (CDRQ) from individual client units (CL) to individual server units (CL) in accordance with the processing load. For content data requests (CDRQ) issued by a particular client unit (SERV2) a tunnel (T) is set up for encapsulating the message exchange between the client unit (CL2) and the server unit (SERV2). Therefore, for the content data request messages (CDRQ) issued by the client unit (CL2) the load distribution function (DIST) of the load balancer (BAL) is overridden and a direct message exchange between the client unit (CL2) and the server unit (SERV2) is enabled.
