IMPROVEMENTS IN MOLTEN METAL EXIT OF CONVERTOR FOR DECREASING WHIRL STREAM OF MOLTEN METAL FLOWING OUT OF THE EXIT

PURPOSE: Improvements in molten metal exit of convertor for decreasing whirl stream of molten metal flowing out of the exit is provided to improve molten steel clarity and entrapment of slag into the molten steel during tapping process. CONSTITUTION: The improved the molten metal exit of a convertor that decreases whirl stream of molten steel is characterized in that replaceable refractory brick(1) for the molten steel exit of a convertor is protruded inward the inner circumferential surface of a blast furnace; and a hole(5) is formed on one side wall of protrusion part of the replaceable refractory brick, wherein total cross sectional area of the hole(5) occupies 10 to 80 % of cross sectional area of tap hole.
