The fuel injector includes a nozzle body and guide section (16) which is axially opposite a sleeve and extends over the length of the bore area (11) which lies between the seat face (13) and the clamping shoulder (9) and does not overlap the shoulder. This guide section forms the sole guide for the nozzle needle (15) in respect of the nozzle body (2). This guide section changes into a pressure shoulder (18) which forms the abutment for the resilient support.
