<p>PURPOSE: A coating composition, its preparation method and its use as a surfacer for finishing an automobile are provided, to improve the stone-chip resistance of an aqueous binder for a surfacer. CONSTITUTION: The coating composition comprises a condensation product (A) of a carboxyl group-containing resin (A1) and a hydroxyl group-containing resin (A2); a water-soluble or water-dispersive high molecular mass polyurethane (B) having a number average molecular weight (Mn) (measured by gel permeation chromatography and calibrated by a polystyrene standard material) of 10 kg/mol or more and a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of 20 kg/mol or more; and a curing agent (C) which becomes active only at an elevated temperature of at least 80 deg.C.</p> |
