PURPOSE: A starting apparatus of vehicles is provided to prevent theft by automatically driving an anti-theft device when a key other than a specific ignition key is inserted to a cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A starting apparatus comprises an ignition key(10) having a plurality of penetrating holes(11a,11b,11c,11d) formed thereon to have different diameters; an air supply part(20) air-tightly attached on inlets on one sides of the penetrating holes formed on a main body of the ignition key when the ignition key is inserted into a cylinder(15); a pressure sensing part(30) air-tightly attached on inlets on the other sides of the penetrating holes formed on the main body of the ignition key to sense air pressure; a controller(50) determining whether the ignition key inserted to the cylinder is a set ignition key using data output by the pressure sensing part, and controlling engine driving control signals correspondingly; an engine driving part(70) driving an engine when the controller outputs engine driving control signal; and a display and alarm part(60) activated to prevent theft depending on driving control signal output by the controller.
