PURPOSE: Placement process of half-loc for coastal structures is provided to determine the optimal weight of a half-loc, according to the weight of a tetrapod and the proper number of half-loc, according to the coated area ,therefore to make stable and economical design of sectional structure possible plus to improve work efficiency and saving time. CONSTITUTION: Placement process of half-loc for coastal structures is placing a large number of half-locs on the slope of shore, river and a breakwater and putting a large number of multi-layered tetrapod on the half-locs. A half-loc weighs at least from 2.65 tons to the maximum 21.63 tons and a tetrapod is from at least 10 tons to the maximum 80 tons heavy enough, which causes too much load onto the half-loc below, for that reason rupture and crack is to be seriously considered. The practical weight of a half-loc is determined by the weight of the tetrapod, moreover the accurately calculated weight of the gives more stability and resistance against waves than natural rocks.
