PURPOSE: A flat CRT tube is provided to reduce manufacturing procedures by eliminating the grinding process for maintaining the height of mask support to be equal to the height of the inner surface of panel. CONSTITUTION: A flat CRT tube comprises a panel where a fluorescent film is formed; a mask support(30) attached to the inner surface of the panel; and a shadow mask attached to the mask support, while maintaining an interval from the fluorescent film. The mask support and the panel have a space(S) formed between the mask support and the panel. The space has a frit glass for attaching the panel and the mask support. A shortest distance(G) between the panel surface and the mask support is 0.1 to 1.0mm.
