PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control pouring of a filter aid. SOLUTION: When filtration is terminated because of the increase in the loss of head (S14: YES), the pouring rate is kept as it is (S16) if the continued time of filtration T is equal to or longer than a specified period (S15: YES) while the pouring rate is decreased (S17) if the time T is shorter than the specified period (S15: NO). When filtration is terminated because the continued time of filtration is equal to or longer than the specified period (S18: YES), the pouring rate is decreased (S17). When filtration is terminated because of degradation of the water quality (S18: NO), the pouring rate is kept as it is (S20) if the continued time of filtration is equal to or longer than the specified period (S19: YES), while the pouring rate is increased (S21) if the continued time of filtration is shorter than the specified period (S19: NO).
