Composition comprising an aminoethylaminoalkyl silicone in which the alkyl group has 4-8 carbon atoms is used for pre-treatment of human keratinic fibers before oxidation dyeing or direct dyeing. An Independent claim is also included for dyeing human keratinic fibers by applying (I), optionally rinsing the fibers, applying a direct or oxidation dye composition, allowing the color to develop, and optionally rinsing and drying the fibers.
