PURPOSE: A DC(Direct Current) motor of an electric vehicle is provided to improve the performance of the electric vehicle by employing a structure in which a diameter is large and a length in a rotational axis direction is very short. CONSTITUTION: A rotor(2) has a diameter of 500-800mm. A plurality of permanent magnets(3) are provided. Each of magnetic poles(4) is provided between the permanent magnets(3). The permanent magnets(3) and the magnetic poles(4) are fixed on the rotor(2) that functions as a frame. The rotor(2) is fixed to a wheel boss that is provided on a center of a motor. A stator(1) is opposite to the magnetic poles(4). An air gap is provided between the stator(1) and the magnetic poles(4). A magnetic field is formed in the air gap. A body of a motor is provided with grooves(5) and a plurality of motor driving coils(7) are wound on the grooves(5). Teeth(6) are provided between the grooves(5) and used as magnetic field channels.
