STOP LAMP AND MOUNTING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stop lamp switch and its mounting method having a structure to be easily mounted on an automobile by only one operator. SOLUTION: This stop lamp switch is provided with an operating shaft 39 whose one end surface projected out side of a switch case body is abutted on a brake pedal 18 of an automobile, a working body 37 moving in the switch case body for separating a movable contact 32 from a fixed contact 31, an engaging spring 38 attached to one end of the working body 37 and engaged with a locking projection and recess part 39a of the operating shaft 39, and a spring regulating member 40 releasably engaging both free end parts 38a, 38b with an engaging step 44 with the engaging spring 38 expanded. By releasing the engagement of both free end parts 38a, 38b with the engaging step 44 by pressing an actuating projection piece 42 of the spring regulating member 40 into the switch case body, the engaging spring 38 is surely engaged with the locking projection and recess part 39a to connect the working body 37 with the operating shaft 39 in an integrally movable condition.
