PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a calculation error in addition including an indirect address reference on a vector computer, and to execute the addition at a high speed by relieving the frequency of collision of an address without using a large work array. SOLUTION: The two-dimensionally expanded work array is introduced, and the term number becoming illicit as an addition result by vector processing is reduced by executing the addition by designating a place of the work array by using a surplus term by the size of the expanded work array. Next, a two-dimensional work array in the same shape as the work array is prepared, and detection is made on whether or not the addition result by designation of the place of the work array is reflected in a memory by using the surplus term, and similar addition processing is repeated up to eliminating a result illicit term to the detected term.
