SYSTEM FOR DISTRIBUTING MOVING PICTURE DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving picture distribution system for preventing digital contents from being illegally leaked with a dedicated client device provided with an electronic watermark technology and a mechanism for enabling a server side to recognize that a client side has copied the digital contents. SOLUTION: Control information as to whether a client terminal side is allowed to perform video recording of moving picture contents to be distributed and also as to what condition the client terminal side is allowed to perform video recording with, is embedded in the contents data as invisible electronic watermark information. The dedicated client device that has received the data detects the watermark information and copies the contents data for video recording according to the condition if the client device is allowed for video recording. The fact that the client device has performed video recording is transmitted to the server device, and the server device records the notification for management.
