The method for detecting one or more freely flying liquid droplets, in particular, ink droplets from jet heads of ink printers involves production of signals by means of droplet impacts on a sensor surface. These audio, compressive or inductive signals are then converted into electric signals for further processing. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for implementation of the method.
