摘要 PURPOSE: A method and a system for desirably controlling height of cladding layer formed by realtime measuring position and height of melt pool and controlling process variables using high speed image photographing and image processing in the process of laser-aided direct metal manufacturing are provided. CONSTITUTION: The system for realtime monitoring and controlling height of cladding layer by using image photographing and image processing in laser cladding and laser-aided direct metal manufacturing comprises a laser generator(401) for making melt pool on the surface of sample by irradiation of certain laser beam; a beam transmission unit(405) for transmitting a laser beam generated from the laser generator to a beam focusing unit; a beam focusing unit(406) for focusing the laser beam transmitted from the beam transmission unit; a cladding material supply unit for supplying a cladding material into melt pool formed on the surface of a sample by irradiation of the laser beam focused in the beam focusing unit; a work table(402) on a z axis of which the beam focusing unit is installed to maintain the focal distance of the laser beam at all times during cladding process and freely transfer the sample along a tool path centering around the laser beam so that laser cladding is performed; a CAD/CAM equipment(409) for transmitting the made manufacturing information to the control system by making manufacturing information such as the tool path; an image photographing unit(407) for transmitting the obtained images of the melt pool to the image processing unit by obtaining images of the melt pool; an image processing unit(408) for computing position and height of the melt pool and transmitting the computed position and height of the melt pool to the control system; and a control system(403) for controlling the above units, monitoring the state thereof, performing laser cladding by receiving the manufacturing information, and realtime controlling process variables so that position and height of cladding layer reach a target value by receiving information on the melt pool.
