PURPOSE: To provide a diffraction grating member capable of obtaining prescribed diffracted light even when the edge angle or fitting angle of an injection metal mold cutting tool is not accurately adjusted. CONSTITUTION: In the diffraction grating member having a rectangular wave-like diffraction grating part provided with a recessed plane and projecting plane, at least one of the recessed plane and the projecting plane is constituted of a plurality of inclined face having the same inclination angle in the same direction so that an inclined step part having a difference in level is formed between both the inclined faces.
