PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an effect on a color deviation detection even when impurities adhere to a transport belt. SOLUTION: A color printer is provided with a transport belt 3 which supports and carries a material to be recorded or an image formed directly, a plurality of image forming parts which are arranged along the transporting direction of the transport belt and forms an image on the material to be recorded or the transport belt, detection parts 6 which detect the widths of a plurality of color deviation detection patterns 9, 10 and 11 formed on the transport belt by the image forming parts, and a control part which changes the relative positions of the image forming parts to the transport belt on the basis of width information on the color deviation detection patterns by the detection parts, obtains the sum total of the absolute value of differences between the average of the width of each color deviation detection pattern and the width of the individual color deviation detection pattern at each place, and judges the position of the image forming part, relative to the transport belt, equivalent to the sum total of the maximum value among a plurality of sum totals to be the relative position of the occurring maximum color deviation. |
