PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a separation beginning of a traveling tread of a pneumatic tire in a vehicle. SOLUTION: First continuous and period vibrations proportional to a wheel rotational frequency generated at least in each axle, particularly in each wheel are fed to a signal processor as rotational frequency output signals. One or a plurality of separately determined periodic vibrations proportional to the wheel rotational frequency specific to the separation beginning of the traveling tread are superimposed on the first vibrations or the rotational frequency output signals. The signal processor detects a superimposition of the first periodic vibrations and the separately determined periodic vibrations specific to the separation beginning of the traveling tread, and it issues an alarm.
