PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce sliding resistance of a journal part of a camshaft and reduce size of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: In the camshaft bearing device for the internal combustion engine, the journal part of the camshaft is journaled by respectively attaching a bearing metal to a head side camshaft bearing part of a head side camshaft supporting part and a housing side camshaft bearing part of a camshaft housing, and an oil supply passage for the journal part is provided for supplying lubricant to the journal part of the camshaft. It is characterized by that a pawl part for preventing rotation is respectively formed on a pair of the bearing metals by expanding in a diametral outward direction a part of each abutting part abutting to each other in diametral one sides, an opening is respectively formed between each abutting part where each pawl part faces each other, and the oil supply passage for the journal part supplying the lubricant to the journal part of the camshaft is communicated with one side of each opening.
