ACTUATOR FOR MULTI NOZZLE INK JET PRINTING HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator achieved by a control means having an active control of a supporting finger simplified. SOLUTION: A part of an electromechanical transducer is constituted as actuator fingers (22) related to nozzles. The other electromechanical transducer is constituted as supporting fingers (24) set between actuator fingers and is adapted to expand/contract in accordance with a voltage impressed between a first electrode and a second electrode. In the actuator for the multi nozzle ink jet printing head, the whole of the electromechanical transducer is constituted of at least one group including a plurality of actuator fingers and a plurality of supporting fingers. The control means is related to each group and supplies the voltage to first electrodes of all supporting fingers of the group. The voltage is dependent on the number of actuator fingers acting in the group.
