RADIATION CURABLE AQUEOUS COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a solvent-resistant radiation curable aqueous composition and an aqueous printing ink for producing packaging materials. SOLUTION: This actinic radiation curable aqueous composition consists essentially of a water-soluble compound having at least oneα,β-ethylenically unsaturated radiation polymerizable double bond and water. The solvent-resistant aqueous printing ink is produced from the actinic radiation curable aqueous composition. The water-soluble compound is preferably an oligomer of an acrylic ester. The composition is cured by irradiation thereof with the actinic radiation in the presence of water.
