PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance liquid chromatograph with high resolution capable of automatically performing analysis and a protein analyzing apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: The two-dimensional high-performance liquid chromatograph is provided with both a preceding-stage separating part 12 with a preceding-stage liquid feeding means 20a and a separating means 38 and a column 44 for trapping components to be separated each separated by the preceding-stage separating part 12 and is characteristically provided with a desalting part 14 for passing a cleaning liquid through the column to perform a desalting treatment, a following-stage separating part 16 with a following-stage liquid feeding means 20b and a separating means 50, a mass spectrometer part 52 directly connected to the following-stage separating part 16, and a control part 54 for controlling the switching of channels for eluting solvents each used in the separating parts and the cleaning liquid used in the desalting part 14. The protein analyzing apparatus uses the two-dimensional high-performance liquid chromatograph.
