PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-developable image recording material giving a high contrast image suitable for printing plate making. SOLUTION: The heat-developable image recording material for plate making comprises a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducer for the organic silver salt, photosensitive silver halide and an organic binder on a support, does not contain an organic contrast enhancer and forms a high contrast image whose gamma is >=7.
