PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a cellular phone usable as a mirror as well without impairing its portability and blazonry and without the need for putting out a back light. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal shutter material 14 end-sealed with liquid crystal molecules to be switched in orientation according an impressed voltage is disposed on the display surface side of a display 6 for displaying characters, images, etc., in the cellular phone 1. The liquid crystal shutter material 14 is put into a transparent state without applying the applied voltage to the liquid crystal molecules, by which the characters, images, etc., displayed on the display 6 are made visible through the liquid crystal shutter material 14 (see (a) in Figure) and the liquid crystal shutter material 14 is put into a mirror finished surface state by impressing the applied voltage to the liquid crystal molecules, by which the liquid crystal shutter material 14 is made usable as the mirror (see (b) in Figure).
