System (40) for profile grinding has a grinding wheel (41), a dressing wheel (42) and a mounting for support and fixing of a workpiece. The system has means for moving the grinding wheel relative to the workpiece so that a desired profiling process can be undertaken. The system has additional means for movement of the dressing wheel relative to the grinding wheel, allowing simultaneous profiling and dressing. The invention also relates to a corresponding profile grinding method and software module.
