THERMAL LOAD RELAXING DEVICE OF NUCLEAR REACTOR VESSEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve safety by relaxing thermal load itself of a generation cause of stress generated in the vicinity of the liquid level of a nuclear reactor wall. SOLUTION: This device is so structured that a partitioning member 5 is disposed above a cooling material liquid level 9 in an annulus space 3 between a nuclear reactor 1 and a guard vessel 2, a low-temperature gas is circulated through the annulus space above the partitioning member to cool it, a gas is circulated through the annulus space from a part under the cooling material liquid level up to the partitioning member, and the part above the cooling material liquid level is heated by the high-temperature gas heated in the part under the cooling material liquid level.
