PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire that can protect a rim flange from a curb or the like even when brought in contact with the curb with a large impact force. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire having a rim protecting bar 6 is embedded with a reinforcing layer 7 in the rim protecting bar 6 so that it extends in a thickness direction of the rim protecting bar 6. The reinforcing layer 7 is preferably embedded at least along a rim flange side surface of the rim protecting bar 6. The reinforcing layer 7 is more preferably embedded along an overall surface of the rim protecting bar 6.
