PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam sprocket device of an internal combustion engine with structure for forming a larger timing mark of the cam sprocket, and also to improve the visibility and workability of attachment. SOLUTION: In the cam sprocket device of the internal combustion engine, an annular detected part 4 consisting of a plurality of detected flat planes 5 and detected recessed parts 6 is mounted on one side surface of the cam sprocket 1, and a sensor for detecting the rotation angle of the cam is disposed opposite from the detected part 4. A discrimination mark 3 for the position determination in the rotational direction is set on the bottom surface of some of the plural detected recessed parts 6 of the detected part 4 lower than the height of the detected flat plane 5. Since the discrimination mark 3 is set lower than the detected recessed parts 6, it will not interfere in the detection of the rotation angle of the cam, so that the rotation angle of the cam can be securely detected. Further, as the discrimination mark is formed in the detected recessed part 6, the shape of the mark is enlarged.
