PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract the pupil edge without error in a visual line detector for detecting the visual line of a user by illuminating the eyeball of the user with a flood means, estimating the central position of the pupil by reading out the signals of the respective pixels of a sensor for photo-detecting light flux reflected from the eyeball, and detecting the visual line of the user by extracting the edge of the pupil from the central position. SOLUTION: The central position of the pupil is estimated by illuminating the eyeball of the user with the flood means and reading out the signals of the respective pixels of the sensor for photo-detecting the light flux reflected from the eyeball (#203) and the visual line of the user is detected by extracting the edge of the pupil from that position. In such a visual line detector, the edge of the pupil is extracted on the basis of the signals of the respective pixels in a radial direction from the estimated center of the pupil (#210). |
