THERMAL DEFORMATION PREVENTING STRUCTURE FOR MACHINE TOOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the thermal deformation of a machine tool and maintain stable and high machining accuracy of the machine tool by easily and inexpensively keeping the machine tool cool down to a constant temperature. SOLUTION: A panel 12 consisting of a planar laminate of a heat transfer part 12a, a heat exchanging part 12c having a flow path 12b and a heat insulating part 12d is mounted to cover a column 3 constituting the machine tool with the heat transfer part 12a in contact with the outer face. Cooling medium supply means is connected to the flow path 12b of the panel 12 so that a cooling medium is circulated in the flow path 12b of the panel 12 with the cooling medium supply means. Thus, the temperature of the machine tool is kept constant and the thermal deformation of the machine tool is prevented.
