PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable even an unskilled technician to easily and reliably carry out a welding operation along the circumferential direction of a cylindrical body or a tubular body. SOLUTION: A traveling type adapter 23 is attached to a welding torch 15 of welding equipment 18 for carrying out welding along the circumferential direction of an insertion opening 7. This adapter 23 is positioned in the axial direction of the opening 7, and constructed to be relatively movable in that state along the circumferential direction. The adapter 23 positions the welding torch 15 in the diameter direction of the opening 7.
