PURPOSE: A system and a method for protecting CONSTITUTION: A client computer includes an intrinsic number and checksum transmission module transmitting the intrinsic number(112) and the checksum(115) of a storing medium, and the terminal number(114) to a server computer(100), and a decryption module making the client computer output the encrypted contents recorded in the storing medium or transmit it to the terminal. The server computer(100) includes a database(110) storing the data for the intrinsic number(112), the checksum(115), and the terminal number(114), a validity examination module(102) validating the validity of the storing medium by comparing the data stored in the database(100) with the data transmitted from the client computer, and a key generating and transmitting module(104) generating an encryption key by combining the intrinsic number(112), the checksum(115) and the terminal intrinsic number(114), and transmitting the encryption key to the client computer.
