PURPOSE: A system for preventing a turbo lag of a diesel engine is provided to allow the accelerating operation to be rapidly performed even when the engine RPM is low. CONSTITUTION: A bypass valve(10) is mounted to an exhaust line(16) connected between an exhaust manifold(12) and a turbo charger(14), and connected to an intake line(20) arranged in front of an intercooler(18). An ECU(22) controls opening/shutting operation of the bypass valve. The ECU senses low engine RPM and simultaneously opens the bypass valve, to thereby allow the exhaust gas to be supplied to the intake line, passing through the bypass valve. A pedal sensor(24) attached to an accelerator pedal is connected to the ECU so as to measure the engine RPM and degree of opening of throttle valve.
