The electrochemical element comprises an assembly having sandwiched electrodes (30), consisting of a cathodic collector sheet made of carbon-containing material on a metal grid, of an active anode sheet made of lithium on a metal grid and of a porous separator made of nonwoven glass inserted between the two sheets, and is wound up in a casing (32) closed by a lid (38) electrically insulated from the casing. The two sheets of the assembly are respectively connected to the casing and to the lid by tabs (18) and (20). The casing contains a cathodic depolarising electrolyte composed of a solution of LiAlCl4 in SO2Cl2. Using a cathodic electrolyte system based on liquid oxyhalide (SO2Cl2) allows a maximal use of the inner volume of the element in the absence of corrosion. The element can therefore constitute a battery having a good yield over a wide range of intensities. <IMAGE> |
