PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability in selecting broadcast services a user desires to receive, by eliminating wasteful operations of channel switchings or troublesome operations. SOLUTION: A multi-channel broadcast receiver 10 is adapted so as to receiver multi-channel broadcast in which additional data including information instructing genre of program contents are allocated to each channel. When there is as specified input instruction from an input section 12, a control means 11 refers to a table stored in a table-storing means 22, in which each channel is correlated with the genre of the contents of the channel. Under the control of the means 11, a broadcast selection means CN skips selection processings of follow-on channels in such a genre which is identical to the genre related to the channel in selection.
