PURPOSE: A system and a method for recognition fingerprints are provided to rapidly process fingerprint image information by accurately recognition and recognition fingerprints. CONSTITUTION: A fingerprint recognization system includes a fingerprint sampling unit(10), a fingerprint recognization unit(20), a fingerprint information memory(30), an input unit(40), a card reading unit(50), a control unit(60), a display unit(70), a communication unit(80) and a memory(90). The fingerprint sampling unit(10) performs a sampling of fingerprints. In addition, the fingerprint sampling unit(10) includes a photographing element(11), a light source(12), a prism(13) and a lens(14). The fingerprint recognization unit(20) processes fingerprint images outputted from the fingerprint sampling unit(10) and generates fingerprint information. In addition, the fingerprint recognization unit(20) includes an A/D conversion unit(21) which converts an analog signal outputted from the photographing element(11) into a digital signal and an image processing unit(22) which processes the digital signal outputted from the A/D conversion unit(21). The fingerprint information memory(30) stores fingerprint matrixes generated from the image processing unit(22). The input unit(40) enables a user to input data. The card reading unit(50) reads information on the user's fingerprints. The control unit(60) controls the image processing unit(22) and generates the information on the user's fingerprints. The display unit(70) displays all sorts of information including user information inputted from the user. The memory(90) stores the fingerprint information of the user authenticated.
