PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image read method by which the coordination between an image reader and a database server can surely be taken and to provide an image read system, a control program for the image read system, and a storage medium. SOLUTION: A server PC 3 generates a job which a user applies an image read from a document by using an MFP device 1, registers the job to the MFP device 1, confirms an error caused by a network, stores the image read by the MFP device 1 and an attribute file generated at reading to a database server according to the job, confirms whether or not processing and data in each processing means are normal, describes information extracted from the image and the attribute file to a mail text on the occurrence of an error, and informs the user about the error as its control.
