PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system for data-compressing a digital video signal, and for operating word synchronizing data insertion and 8B/10B conversion, and for converting the data into serial data, and for transmitting the data so that the data can be reproduced surely at the reception side. SOLUTION: A digital video signal is data-compressed, so that a compressed digital video signal can be formed, by alternately linking a part where compressed data exist and a part in which compressed data do not exist. Then, an additional word data group including word synchronizing data, having a preliminarily set code, is inserted into the part where any compressed data do not exist so that first word sequence data can be obtained, and the data are 8B/10B converted. Then, second word sequence data, having the part based on the additional word data group, including the word synchronizing data posterior to the 8B/10B conversion having a preliminarily set code to the obtained based on the word synchronizing data, are formed. The second word sequence data are converted into serial data and transmitted. |
