The ball screw-nut assembly comprises a screw (1) rotating in a nut (2) and a safety nut (5) ensuring a friction torque on the screw in the event of failure of the nut. The screw and nut helical threads form a helical channel (3) in which balls (12) are housed. The safety nut comprises two parts (6,7) conically fitted by means of conical bearing surfaces (9). The outer part is fixed to the nut whilst the inner part (7) serves as the interface between the outer part and screw by means of the screw thread (10). The inner part can, following a relative axial displacement of the two parts, deform radially inwards to exert a clamping couple on the screw.
