PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate digital picture data allowing the focusing range to be changed as desired after photographing without raising the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The digital still camera 1 comprises a CCD 3 for converting a received picture of an object, an optical unit 2 for focusing the picture of the object on the CCD 3, a linear motor 5 for moving the CCD to change the focusing position relative to the optical unit 2, and a CPU 8 for generating picture data Dg of the picture of the object based on the electric signals outputted from the CCD 3.
