The invention relates to a particulate, partially or fully cross-linked rubber having a glass transition temperature which is lower than 0 °C. Said rubber has cross-linking points which are interconnected by network arcs having a mean molecular weight of between 10,000 g/mol and 50,000 g/mol. According to the invention, the average nuclear magnetic transversal relaxation time (T2m) of the rubber protons is between 3 and 15 ms, when measured at a temperature of 140 °C, and has an at least bimodal relaxation time distribution (h(T2)). A first fraction, representing at least 70 %, has a mean transversal relaxation time (T2s) of between 2 and 10 ms. The inventive rubber is preferably used as an impact-resistant modifier for moulding materials, in a grafted or non-grafted form.
