THERMAL ACTIVATION OF FILMS

Weatherproof and UV-resistant films based on poly(meth)acrylates are increasingly used for laminating plastic profiles, particularly profiles mad e of thermoplastic materials, wood or wood materials that, due to the high gla ss transition temperature of the film polymers, are difficult to bond using conventional methods. The invention relates to a method according to which this film is thermally activated before bonding thus enabling a rapid and reliable bonding in laminating methods.
