PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce discharge torque between a treated matter which is discharged from a drum and a presser and also to prevent the wear of a presser ring. SOLUTION: A screw press is provided with the drum 2 having filtering holes provide in a casing 13, a compressing/conveying means by which the matter to be treated is conveyed in an axial direction in the drum and two openings which are formed on both-end sides of the drum, and the matter to be treated which is charged from an opening on one side is concentrated, filtered and compressed while it is conveyed by the compressive/conveying means, separated liquid is drained out of the filtering holes of the drum and a dehydrated solid matter is discharged from the other opening. In the screw press, the drum is constituted freely rotatably, the matter to be treated is pressurized with a pump and fed in the axial direction of the drum, and the drum and the compressing/conveying means are constituted so as to be rotatable at a speed difference in the same direction.
