A supporting arrangement for a rotation adjustment mechanism of a arm rest/seat back, 12, in a vehicle with a split seat configuration. The arm rest is supported by a bracket, 22, at a central vertical line, and a hinge element, 16, to one of the sides, which is also connected to the adjacent seat. The bracket lies within the arm rest, and the rotation adjustment mechanism, 14, is attached to it, and the hinge, such that any load applied to the arm rest is channelled through the vehicle seat.
