PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer capable of preventing a bubble or a foreign matter from entering into an inner section of an ejection nozzle when a maintenance operation of a recording head is performed and of improving the degree of freedom in designing of an ink cartridge. SOLUTION: This inkjet printer comprises an ink cartridge for containing ink, an ink supply passage from the ink cartridge to the recording head, an intermediate ink reservoir section provided in the ink supply passage, a shut-off valve that is provided on the ink supply passage from the ink cartridge to the intermediate ink reservoir section in order to restrict the supplying of ink. A rear pressure control means controls a rear pressure in the recording head by opening or closing the shut-off valve when the maintenance operation is performed. |
