PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical liquefied gas tank which is suitable for safely storing a liquefied gas such as CO2 , and can be inexpensively manufactured. SOLUTION: An equatorial belt (10) is formed to join, by welding an equatorial strip (30) with a linear cross section on an external surface of a curve (21) on an equatorial strip (20) with an inverted U-shaped cross section. The equatorial strip with an inverted U-shaped cross section can be formed by folding a flat steel plate into a U-shape in cross section and peripherally curving it into a posture having a curve facing upward, and the equatorial strip (30) with a linear cross section can be formed only by peripherally curving the flat steel plate, so that much cost is not needed. A lower end (41) of an upper hemisphere forming member (40) is joined by welding with an upper end (31) of the equatorial strip with a linear cross section. An upper end (51) of a lower hemisphere forming member (50) is joined by welding with a lower end (24) of a first leg (22) of the equatorial strip with an inverted U-shaped cross section. An upper end (61) of a skirt member (60) is joined by welding with a lower end (25) of a second leg (23) of the equatorial strip with an inverted U-shaped cross section.
